Alex King is a tenacious litigation and disputes lawyer specialising in private family, commercial and business litigation and disputes.

Alex previously worked at Arnold Bloch Leibler for 23 years, including 14 years as a partner, practising across family wealth, business, company, shareholder, partnership, oppression, wills and estates and property disputes, and regulatory and insolvency-related matters. 

He is listed in Chambers, Best Lawyers and Doyles Guide for his significant expertise and experience in litigation and insolvency law.

Nancy Collins is a commercial litigation lawyer with a particular focus on private family wealth disputes. Her expertise lies in this complex area of law, together with family trust, deceased estates, and business and commercial disputes.

Nancy understands the emotional impact of these kinds of proceedings and is experienced in managing both the law and the human side of the process.

She worked at Arnold Bloch Leibler for more than a decade, appointed as Special Counsel in 2016.

Nancy is a longstanding member of the Law Institute of Victoria’s Executive Succession Law Committee, including serving as Deputy Chair.

She is listed in Best Lawyers and Doyles Guide for her significant expertise and experience in litigation.

Tara is a commercial litigator known for her approachability, her direct and clear communication style and her solution-oriented and practical approach to disputes.

She has broad experience in personal and corporate insolvency matters, banking and finance litigation, loan recovery and security enforcement, leasing disputes, shareholder oppression disputes, class actions, ASIC investigations and family wealth disputes and general commercial disputes.

Tara’s approach in many instances results in the early resolution of matters prior to litigation becoming necessary.

Tara has represented clients in proceedings before the Federal Court of Australia, State Supreme Courts and at the district and local courts, at both trial and appellate levels.

Michelle is a commercial litigation lawyer known for her confident and pragmatic approach in dealing with a wide variety of disputes.

She has experience in corporate dispute matters, contentious insolvencies and regulatory disputes. She advises clients in numerous sectors including technology start-ups, medical supplies and services, mining, sports, gaming, and primary production. She has experience advising insolvency practitioners, private and public companies and their directors.

Michelle joined King & Collins in 2022, having practiced most recently at Cornwalls in their Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Restructuring, Insolvency & Turnaround teams. She has previously completed a clerkship in Beijing and is fluent in Mandarin and an advanced level speaker of Cantonese. Michelle also completed the N2 level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.

Michelle is a Communications Sub-committee Member at Women in Insolvency and Restructuring Victoria, and is studying the ARITA Advanced Certification in Insolvency. She was a finalist in the 2021 and 2022 Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 Awards.

Michelle graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws. She is known for the zeal and candour with which she engages with her clients’ matters.

Andrew is a disputes lawyer known for his relentless energy and quick thinking which he applies to help clients respond to their most pressing legal issues.

Andrew joined King & Collins in 2023, having most recently worked at an international law firm advising blue chip clients across a range of industries on complex disputes. He has acted for clients in matters before Australian courts and arbitrations and in matters resolved by alternative dispute resolution processes.

Andrew approaches his role as a lawyer with a broader commercial perspective thanks to his background in corporate advisory and private equity.

Andrew was admitted to practise in 2018.

Christopher came highly recommended to us as a Paralegal in 2019 and worked with us on a casual basis while he completed his studies.

Christopher graduated with a double degree in law (Hons) and accounting, and received the Monash Faculty of Law Prize for Construction Law (Dispute Resolution), as well as an Accounting Work Integrated Learning Scholarship.

Thankfully for us, Christopher decided to pursue a career in law, and we were very excited when the opportunity arose to take Christopher on as a first year lawyer at the start of March 2021. Christopher has assisted us on a number of litigious estate matters and large commercial disputes.

Tiffany is an energetic, bright and approachable lawyer.

Tiffany thoughtfully and strategically applies the law in its commercial context to deliver outstanding results for our clients. Tiffany joined King & Collins in 2023, having practised in dispute resolution from the commencement of her legal career.

As a Chinese native, Tiffany also speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese and has a keen understanding of many different Asian cultures.

Michelle is a litigation and disputes lawyer, admitted to practise in September 2021.

Michelle’s strengths include her ability to empathise and understand the perspective of her clients and to apply herself tirelessly to achieving the best commercial outcomes for them in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Before joining King & Collins, Michelle worked in a diverse legal practice, including in dust disease claims, institutional abuse claims, general commercial litigation and estate litigation.

Kieran joined King & Collins in 2024 from Brisbane where he represented major insurers and their insured parties in a diversity of commercial litigation.

Prior to that, Kieran worked as a bailiff and registrar in Queensland courts while earning his law degree. He then completed a graduate year at a major national law firm.

Once an admitted lawyer in 2022 Kieran has acted for corporate and individual clients in litigated commercial, planning and professional indemnity disputes. He has also advised on insurance coverage matters and assisted clients to respond to regulatory investigations.

Kieran is a dedicated and personable lawyer who understands his clients and delivers strong outcomes.

Brandie joined King & Collins in 2022, first as a Paralegal while she completed her studies and commenced practice as a first year lawyer in July 2023.
